Senior Researcher at the Environmental Hydraulics Institute of the University of Cantabria (IHCantabria), where she leads the area of expertise in accidental marine pollution. PhD in Marine Science and Technology, MSc in Physical Oceanography, MSc in Coastal Engineering. Her research focuses mainly on the numerical modelling of accidental spills, plastic pollution, operational oceanography, coastal hydrodynamics, and the development of methodologies and tools to support spill response and preparedness. She has participated in more than 40 national and international R&D projects, serving as Principal Investigator in 20 of them, with activities carried out in more than 15 countries. Her activity in this field has resulted in more than 30 SCI-indexed publications and more than 70 national and international conference contributions.
