The EGU General Assembly 2026 will take place from 3–8 May in Vienna and online, uniting thousands of geoscientists from all EGU divisions. Organised by the European Geosciences Union with Copernicus Meetings, this hybrid event offers an open and inclusive space for sharing research, discussing new scientific insights, and building collaborations. Participants can access practical details about attending EGU26, including venue information, accommodation options, financial support, accessibility measures, childcare services, and registration guidelines. The full scientific programme will also be available. Beyond the scientific sessions, attendees are invited to organise Townhall or Splinter Meetings, join art–science activities, meet GIFT teachers, and take part in community networking opportunities.

Meeting format

The EGU General Assembly 2026 will blend traditional presentation formats with enhanced hybrid features to ensure greater accessibility and inclusion for all participants. EGU26 will offer oral sessions, poster presentations, and the well-known PICO format, available both on-site in Vienna and for remote contributors. 

For online attendees, Zoom access links will be provided in the programme 15 minutes before each session begins.
